This concert is in conjunction with the Museum exhibit New Harmonies: Celebrating American Roots Music which runs from Nov 7 to Dec 31. This exhibition presented in partnership with the New Jersey Council for the Humanities “tells the story of a nation through the music of its people. Bringing together photographs, recordings, instruments, lyrics, and artist profiles, this Smithsonian Institution touring exhibition explores the distinct cultural identities of gospel, country, blues and other forms of roots music as they record the history of the American people and set the foundation for many musical genres appreciated world wide today.” As a host of the New Harmonies Exhibition, we at WheatonArts will also a wide spectrum of public programs including two concerts and a series of workshops exploring the instrument making process.
In addition to the Snakes, the concert features bluesman Steve Byrne, bluegrass from the Belaire Boys and 9 year old award-winning Celtic fiddler Haley Richardson and her brothers Dylan & Newt, the Towheads.

This event supports LiveStrong and the South Jersey Healthcare Foundation. You can register at the Barbara Cook Canncer Foundation website. They do have a "Clean option", BBQ and walk only, no mud for $35, or you can get the full mud experience for $65. Here's the schedule:
Judging for the Costume Contest begins at 3pm
Opening Ceremonies begin at 4pm, Costume Contest and Announcement of Costume and Fundraising Awards.
Kids Mud Run (for kids 12 and under) starts at 4:45pm. Parents may run with the kids at no additional charge. Parents who then wish to do the regular mud run may join one of the later waves.
Adult Races will start at 5pm, waves will be assigned and waves will go out every 15 minutes (no more than 4 waves). Pit Pass Wave will go out after last Mud Run Wave.
BBQ starts at 6pm and features live entertainment (that's us!)
Candlelight Walk in Honor/Memory of Cancer Survivors will start after dark and after conclusion of the mud runs.

This year's celebration has many exciting twists as we will enjoy delicious food from Luke Kornbluh, formerly of The Looking Glass Café, as well as awesome music from members of the Snake Brothers. The event will take place both inside the center as well as under a lighted tent on the plaza. Those attending will enjoy a live and silent auction, as well as a complimentary wine and beer bar, dessert station and coffee bar provided by Starbucks. Tickets are $75 a person and include an original origami ornament commemorating the occasion. All of the proceeds from the event directly benefit the Art Creates Excellence program at the RRCA which offers fine art instruction to students seven through seniors year round.
